Camping Blankets: Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh MY

Unique Linens Online:  I have skipped around the house of my childhood singing, Lions and Tigers and Bears countless times.  It is a tune that sticks in your head and a saying that gets used time and time again for a variety of reasons.  This famous line from the classic movie Wizard of Oz, has been a favorite of mine.

This line, along with “No Bears are Out Tonight”, reminds of wonderful summer evenings at my parents home in Idaho.  These were sayings we would yell out, while running around the outside of the house, waiting for the person to jump out and catch us.  Once caught, we became the ferocious beast waiting for our prey to round the corner.  Games of the dark, in the coolness of the Idaho evenings, were usually a prequel to sleeping outside under the big star filled sky.

I have had a great opportunity this past week to watch my 8 and 10 year old bask in the glorious days of summer.  They have had friends over, played in the river, built campfires, told ghost stories, roasted hot dogs, made s’mores and slept outside for a week straight.  Their once pastie Oregon skin, now has a golden brown tint and just about every limb has bug bites, scrapes and bruises, signs of successful, fun-filled days.

Bunkhouse Plaid Denali Blanket

As I sent the kids outside to sleep on the trampoline, I made sure that they had the trusty dog to sleep by their sides to protect them from the creatures of the night.  I also made sure they each had their Denali blanket from www.uniquelinensonline.com to take with them.  My sons friend, who is also ten, reassured me that he did not need a blanket because he was a “man” and could handle the cold.

Denali Cashew Plaid

I reassured him that I was a mom and I knew better…..he took the blanket.  As it turned out, he was more of a man than I thought.  The blanket was near him, but not on him.  He stayed true to his claim but honored me by having it near by, just in case.

The Denali blankets are a must have for summer fun.  They are plush, soft and so cozy.  The best feature is how well they wash up.  Machine wash and tumble dry and your blanket comes out looking wonderful, ready for the next summer adventure.

My kids tote them all over the place, from sleep overs, to boating to camping.  Denali blankets have become the one necessity that always gets packed.

Summer is almost over, the kids will go back to school, and the fun-filled days will be busy with learning, reading and writing once more.  Take the next month to watch your kids have fun.  Take the next month to do something fun with them.  Chase them around the house, yelling Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!!!  Then send them out under the star filled sky with their favorite blanket, so their days of summer will become memories for a lifetime.
